Speeding Up Windows Vista
I guess this would help many of you guys, especially those who are using Windows Vista. It doesn't matter if its Vista Starter, Vista Home Basic, Vista Home Premium, Vista Enterprise, Vista Business or Vista Ultimate. The tricks would work on most of them.
For the first part, I would suggest that you turn off unnecessary Windows features.
Open Control Panel and click Uninstall a Program to launch Vista's Uninstall or Change a Program Window. In the Tasks pane on the left, click Turn Windows Features On or Off. See the list of features. For most systems, I would suggest that you turn off TabletPC Optional Components, Windows Fax and Scan and Windows Meeting Space.
If your system has 2GB or less RAM, I would suggest that you pick up a 2GB flash drive, which would cost around RM20 these days, and plug it in. Once you have plugged it in, Vista would ask you want you want to do with the drive. Close the window. Go to Computer, right click on the ReadyBoost tab. Then choose to dedicate the drive for ReadyBoost. Do take note, however, the read and write rate will be very high, and can wear the flash drive out prematurely. Good thing flash drives are dirt cheap these days, eh?
If you are using Vista Home Premium and above, you will get the AeroGlass theme by default. I would suggest that you turn off the transparency to save on system resources. Unless you have a very powerful system, AeroGlass take a toll on your performance. Use back the Windows Classic theme. Looks good as well.

Auto vs Manual
I wanted to bring up this topic for a long time already, but just couldn't bring myself to compose it. But anyhow, here goes.
The reason people drive auto (what I believe) is simply because of its easiness. Yeah, you just press the accelerator and brake and you're off. No need to fumble with the clutch and so on. Just shift down from P to D and you're off. Let the ECU handle the gearshifts.
In terms of excitement, nothing beats pure manual. The only thing that can come close are the fappy paddle shifts. Locally, the Honda City, and the 2.0l Honda Civic has paddle shifts. But do be warned, however, that those cars' transmissions are not pure auto or pure manual. They belong under the continuously variable type. Even the Audi A4 has a similar transmission. Not everyone is a fan of such transmissions, as it is "un-natural". I personally have never driven any of those cars, so I cannot comment much on it. And once I get my hand on one, I will post it out.
Back to the topic. In auto, when you want to accelerate hard, you'll normally press the pedal a little harder so that the gear will kick down one or maybe two steps. That also depends on the made and model of the car. I have driven a few auto cars. And the most boring is the Chevrolet Optra. Don't get me wrong, the car is great. it's just that when I want the power, I have to press the accelerator down. Hard. Metal to metal hard. One of my favorite would be the Proton Waja. But I must say that it can be a tad bit too sensitive. A gentle prod can make the gear shift down, unlike the Optra. But that is where the fun is, power is readily available. And in most auto cars, after flooring the accelerator, the ECU will decide on how many gears will it want to drop, then only it will drop. In manual, you just press the clutch, shift 2 gears down, press the accelerator, let go the clutch and power kicks in. No need stupid fumbly ECUs to help you decide the gear to choose. It's all about being in control. driving an auto will detach soul and car. You can't "feel" the car. Driving a manual, shfting at the right time by hearing is a skill. but the same could not be said the same for an auto, as the ECU is the brain, not you. And, how many sport/super cars do you see has a pure auto? Many of them are manual, or continously variable. Maybe next I will talk about the Proton Savvy's AMT transmission and its variants.

bBurago Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera Review
I acquired this model for around US$15. A tad bit more expensive than my R8. I do hope that the qualities are indeed better than the R8. Read on to find out more.
The Packaging
Considering that there is only 1/24 Star Colleczione available locally, I can't comment much on it. Here is the link for the product's page,
http://www.bburago.com/bburago.php?idm=10&idp=2&idc=5&idprd=332
The Car
Details.
The details of this car is where its quite good. Although I must say that there are some parts that I don't quite like. eg, cheap looking exhaust (can easily be modded :happy ) and the molded in wipers. Worst still, one of the door had a fitting issue, in which the door does not want to shut tightly. But other than that, I must say it does look impressive. Even the front headlights are a sight to behold. I'd give it a 8/10
The interior is also well detailed. Like my R8, bBurago replicates the carbon fibre (cf) detail by doing wavey patterns on the plastic. The is even seat belts !
The paint used is also good. There was a yellow version of this Gallardo, but I preferred the silver/grey. The usual raging bull logo is also present on the front of the car. On the back, the Lamborghini wording is also present.
The engine detailing is where the Gallardo shines. I like the fact that bBurago made an effort to give the engine depth. In other words, it is not one molded in piece where everything is in the same level. I'd give it a 9/10
The wheel, in my opinion, could have been a bit bigger. Other than that, there is the disc brake, but without the callipers. Why is is so is beyond me. I do like the black on silver grey combination, though. The wheels and brakes gets a 8.5/10 from me.
Overall, I am satisfied with this Gallardo. The engine detailing itself is a selling point. Other than the small niggles, the car is fine. I give the bBurago Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera a 9/10. :yahoo

Maisto Audi R8 Review
I got this model at a discount. The original price was RM50 , but then there was a 20% off discount, so I payed only RM40 for it. Still quite a bargain, I suppose.
The Packaging.
The packaging itself was quite generic. The only way you can know the model is by the sticker on the lower right hand side. Other than that, there is mention about the car inside the box. Beside the car's name, is the category the car is under. in my case, the R8 is under the Special Edition Series, in particular, the 1/24 scale.
The Car
- Details
The details of the car is quite good, I must say. But it is not excellent. For example, there are no disc brake details on this car, just hollow space behind the rims. Other details, such as flocked carpets as well as PE seatbelts are not available here. The uber cool LEDs under the headlight is also missing. The exhaust is molded together with the whole body. But that is about it. Let's talk about the positive side now.
The interior detailing is top notch. Other than the material of the seats and the lack of carpeting, I give the interior a solid 9/10. Small touches such as meter detailing, radio detailing, seatbelt lock has not been forgotten. There is even an R8 logo where the door closes.
The body detailing, is also quite good. Maisto managed to recreated the carbon fibre (CF) details by putting wave-like patterns on the plastic parts. The lights are also quite well detailed. Other than that, the logos on the car is also well replicated. Save for the Quattro wording that seems to be missing on the front grille. I give the exterior a 7/10.
As for the engine details, I must say that Maisto managed to replicate the V8 Quattro quite well. The CF treatment was the same as the sideblade behind the door. Other than that, there is nothing much to shout about. I give it a 7/10
The paint on the car, is not perfect. I found a few small paint blotches on the front bonnet, but that is about it. The painting around the door seal is less than perfect, where it can actually show the metal color beneath it. The paint gets a 7/10 from me.
The wheels are quite detailed. The Audi logo can be seen clearly. But what annoys me is that circle piece molded on the back of the rim. Makes it look quite funny. The tires are generic ones. Overall, the wheels get a 8/10 from me.
Overall
I am quite impressed with Maisto's offering. The car is cheap, and yet has some small touches adds up. There are a few cons, but at this price, what else can you ask for? This car makes a good welcome if you like the R8. Or you can present it to a friend as a birthday present, considering its price. The Maisto Audi R8 gets a 8/10 from me.

A lil about myself - Part II
continued from the last one. This is the "like" part, "hate", "dislike" will come soon.
Food.
- Yup, I enjoy eating, but can never get any fatter. damn. I mean, if I eat so much, why the hell cant I get any fatter...????!!
Windows7
- I like it a lot, this replacement for Vista. Wonder when it really comes out of beta, then maybe, just maybe, I'll buy one.
A girl
- If (read: IF) I had a gf, I will take good care of her...........
LCDs
- Forget those darn ugly big fat pain-in-the-eye CRTs. LCD IS the way to go. Widescreen LCDs costs as little as RM399 nowadays. And that is a whole 20" for you. Off to hell you go, CRT.

A lil about myself
What I like
Tech
- Yup, I am a huge fan of tech. But NOT IT. Puhleeeezzz, IT is NOT the same as tech. You may argue that IT stands for Information Technology. Yeah, so where does Information come from? I don't know. I started liking tech since I got my first phone. Darn old Alcatel it was. But it was better than nothing.
Manual Cars
- Time to argue again? hold your horses lah. Why not like auto, you may ask. Simple. I want to be in control. In auto, you just press the accelerator and brakes. And steer a bit. But in manual, you have to be aware of what gear you're in and such. Really fun. And when the need arises, an auto fails to perform most of the time. Want to overtake the idiot in front of you? Step down hard, wait a while, gear kicks down one, maybe two, then the car accelerates. By then, you would have grown a 3 inch long beard. On a manual, press the clutch, drop one or two gears and enjoy the rush of power. Fun.
Computers
- Nope, this ain't related to tech. Only slightly lah. I was doing computers since I was 14. And by reading magazines and going through tech blogs and such, my computer knowledge improved. A bit. The usual identifying game just got intense as Intel just launched their LGA1366 series cpu.....
Cycling
- clcying is good for health. or so they say. I dont care. I cycle fast. But I cant seem to cycle as fast as I drve though. Odd. Downhill is absolute fun. And so is uphill. Drag racing? call me in as well. I consider myself a junior "rempit". hehehehe
Family
- Ya. I like my family
Model Cars
- Diecast or plastic models. I like them all. I noticed that ppl these days are either a. Hooked on their comp, b. lala-ing in BTS c. wasting time. Collecting cars is like an obsession. I see a nice car, check my wallet, then I buy. I prefer American muscle and European sports cars. I also collect Hotwheels. I have, hmm, more than 60. In the box. Outside the box? Havent counted yet.
